About Dr Terry Fitzgerald
Terry Fitzgerald EdD has been teaching the
Alexander Technique since 1978.
He is a teaching member of
the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT),
STAT (UK) and Alexander Technique International (ATI), and a member of
the Australian Society of Performing Arts Healthcare (ASPAH).
After working initially as a Public
Health Engineer, he completed a three-year Alexander Technique teaching
course at the London School of the late Mr. Patrick Macdonald, who was
one of F.M. Alexander's earliest trainees.
He has been actively involved with Alexander
teacher education in Sydney and London since 1983, and he was
Director of The Sydney Alexander School teacher training program for 11 years.
Terry has a Masters degree in Adult Education and a Doctorate
in Education from the University of Technology, Sydney. His thesis was titled "The future of Alexander Technique
teacher education: Principles, practices and professionalism".
He is also a highly
qualified and experienced teacher of ballroom dancing.
