The Sydney Alexander School

The Sydney Alexander School is located at Suite 32, 330 Wattle Street, Ultimo 2007, close to Central Station and the Sydney CBD. The Director of the School, Dr Terry Fitzgerald, has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1978 and is a member of the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT).

Dr Terry Fitzgerald

Dr Terry Fitzgerald EdD has been teaching the Alexander Technique since 1978.

 

Terry is a teaching member of the Australian Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (AUSTAT) and the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT), United Kingdom.

After initially working as a Public Health Engineer, he completed a three-year Alexander Technique teacher training course at the London School of the late Mr Patrick Macdonald, one of F.M. Alexander's earliest students.

 

He has been actively involved in Alexander teacher training in Sydney and London since 1983 and was Director of the Sydney Alexander School teacher training program for 11 years.

 

Terry has a Masters Degree in Adult Education and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Technology Sydney. His thesis was entitled "The Future of Alexander Technique Teacher Education: Principles, Practices and Professionalism".

 

He is also a highly qualified and experienced ballroom dancing teacher.
